Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS), owned and operated by Duke Energy, is located in the east side of Oconee County. ONS is a three unit commercial nuclear powered electrical generating facility. Because of the unique potential for affecting the general population, plans and procedures are in place to react to potential, and actual, incidents at ONS. These plans are exercised annually with Local, State, and Federal Agencies. Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) maps are developed to provide visual reference to quickly identify areas surrounding the ONS.
