The Schneider Electric North American Operating Division is best known in the United States for its Square D brand of products, systems and services. The Square D Seneca manufacturing operation opened in 1986 and currently employs over 700 people at three Oconee County manufacturing locations.

The Square D brand products that are assembled at the Square D manufacturing facilities include enclosed AC drives and a low voltage motor control center. Square D supports the local community by supplying jobs and contributing to the local tax base, in addition to sponsoring employee volunteer programs and participating in community events.
