Council Sessions are held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the County Council Chambers located at 415 South Pine Street, Walhalla, S.C. [unless otherwise advertised].  
          At each regularly scheduled Council meeting there will be held a Public Comment Session which is limited to thirty (30) minutes with three (3) minutes allocated per person.  Comments should be related to a specific agenda item. 

          In addition, at each regularly scheduled Council meeting there will be held an Extended Public Comment Session which is limited to two citizens,  five (5) minutes allocated per person.  Comments do not have to be related to a specific agenda item.  The time may not be used to promote or criticize a political candidate or figure.  Interested individuals should contact the Council Clerk [718-1023 or bhulse@oconeesc.com ] to sign up for the next meeting.  Be advised that only one meeting will be scheduled at a time. 

NOTICE:                                                 Board of Zoning Appeals, District III Seat Open:

           Oconee County Council is seeking interested candidates for the District III seat on the Oconee County Zoning Board of Appeals.  The Board consists of seven members and meets on a monthly basis to hear appeals, special exceptions and variances.  In addition, the Board works closely with the Oconee County Planning Director who has been designated by County Council as the zoning administrator to administer the Performance Standards and Land Development Regulations.  Interested parties should write to the Clerk to Council, Oconee Administration Building, 415 South Pine Street, Walhalla, S.C., call [864] 718-1023 or contact Mr. Mario Suarez, District III Council member at [864] 882-5757

OCONEE COUNTY COUNCIL     MEETING SCHEDULE 

          Oconee County Council will hold it’s regularly scheduled meetings in May 2008 and the first meeting of June 2008 at the following locations on the dates listed:

          Seneca Middle School Cafeteria, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., 

          Walhalla High School Auditorium, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. 

          Oconee County Council will again meet in Chambers to resume its regular meeting schedule on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.
