MINUTES, SPECIAL MEETING, OCONEE COUNTY COUNCIL

 

                        The Oconee County Council held a special meeting Friday, September 9, 2005 at 9:00 am in Council Chambers, 415 South Pine Street, Walhalla, SC with all Council Members except Mr. Moore present.  Also present were Mr. Rabun, County Administrator, Mr. Norton, County Attorney & the Clerk to Council.

                        Also notified were the Oconee County Democratic Party, the Oconee County Taxpayer’s Association and the Citizens for Recreation Complex.

                        The meeting was called to order by Mr. Ables, Council Chair.

                        The invocation was given by Mr. Rinehart

Minutes, Special Meeting, Oconee County Council                        September 9, 2005

                       

Millage:

 

                        As required by Section 6-1-320, SC Code of Laws the purpose of the meeting was for Council to consider approval of a millage rate which will override the limitation of the State CPI for fiscal year 2005-06.

 

                        Mrs. Linda Nix, County Auditor, presented the following millage for consideration:

 

                        County Operations:                               68.0

                        Economic Development:                         1.0

2002 GO Bond:                                      2.0

 

School Operations:                               123.0

 

School Bonds:

                        Mr. Rinehart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Lyles, approved 3 – 1 (Mr. Crumpton voting against) to adopt the millage as presented.
