MINUTES, SPECIAL MEETING, OCONEE COUNTY COUNCIL

 

                                    The Oconee County Council held a special meeting Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 5:00 pm in Council Chambers, 415 South Pine Street, Walhalla, SC with Council Members Moore, Crumpton, & Ables present along with Ron H. Rabun, County Administrator, Bradley Norton, County Attorney and the Clerk to Council.

                                    Also notified were the Oconee County Taxpayers Association, the Oconee County Democratic Party and the Citizens for Recreation Center.

 

Call to Order:

 

                                    The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ables.

 

Invocation:

 

                                    The invocation was given by Mr. Crumpton.

 

Pledge of Allegiance:

 

                                    Mr. Norton led the pledge of allegiance to the US Flag.

 

Proposed Millage for 2005-06 Fiscal Year:

 

                                    As required by Section 6-1-320, SC Code of Laws, the purpose of the meeting was to consider approval of a millage rate to meet the adopted budget that will override the limitation of the State CPI for fiscal year 2005-06.

 

                                    Upon recommendation of Mrs. Linda Nix, County Auditor, Mr. Ables made a motion that millage be set as follows:

                                    The bond millage as determined by the County Auditor would be as follows:

                                    Mr. Ables motion died for lack of a second.
