Oconee County currently holds public auctions via the Internet through an on-line auction service, GovDeals. This online auction service replaces the past “traditional” auctions that were held locally.
The first auction using GovDeals was held in May, 2006. Since that time the County has posted a variety of equipment and vehicles available for sale to the public utilizing the GovDeals site.
Generally, the equipment and vehicles will be posted on GovDeals in small groups as it becomes available to be sold as surplus equipment. Check the GovDeals website periodically for new listings.
To bid on any item, you must go to www.govdeals.com and register as a bidder.
Registration for all bidders is free of charge. Visit GovDeals at www.govdeals.com to register, view, and place all bids. Free internet access is available at all County Libraries for those who do not have access to the Internet.
