High Mileage Appeal

Section 12-37-2680 and Property Regulations 117-119 and 117-129 provide for High Mileage Reduction PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE OF TAXES.

A discount is available if your vehicle accumulates at least 15,000 miles per year and an accumulation of 15,000 miles for each subsequent year.  For clarification, a 2010 vehicle is considered three years old in 2012, so you will need at least 45,001 miles on the vehicle to qualify.   To appeal, you must apply in person at the Auditor’s Office prior to the due date of the tax notice.  Either drive the vehicle to the tax center or supply a recent oil change or service receipt that identifies the vehicle and indicates the mileage.  Should neither of these proofs of mileage be feasible, due to extenuating circumstances, the following notarized information must be provided to the Auditor prior to the due date of the taxes.  The Auditor’s Office reserves the right to inspect vehicle for verification.
